INTRODUCTIONThis site at Jurdytoons.com (the "Site") to help introduce children to issues of sustainability, environmentalism, "green" living, in addition to general, child-appropriate tools for well-being. The Site is free and the content is child-friendly, educational and humorous.As the Site develops, we may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the law, our practices, or site features. As a result, you should periodically review this Privacy Policy so you are up to date on our current policies and practices.

PERSONAL DATAThe Site is designed so that you may participate in the activities without the need to supply personally identifiable information. If we introduce communication features, such as a survey to ask what you think of the project, we will only request non-personally identifiable information (such as your first name, age, city/town, or state/province/country). If you write to us via email, we may reply, but we will not store your email address for the purpose of future correspondence. We will not use such information for other purposes, or share your personal information with others.

EMAIL SUBSCRIPTIONS  We provide all users with the ability to subscribe to weekly emails from the Site. To do so, we require an email address to send emails to subscriber and will use that address only to send the email subscription which has been chosen by the subscriber.  WE WILL NOT USE THIS EMAIL ADDRESS FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE AND WILL NOT SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH OTHERS.

If we know you are under the age of 13 and we need to collect any information from you beyond an email address in connection with  a home address to mail a prize-we will notify a parent and obtain prior consent before obtaining this information.We may ask you to provide your parent's email address to notify your parent that you are receiving regular emails from the Site. In the such notification email to your parent, we may ask for a home mailing address for shipping purposes, or invite the parent to call a telephone number to provide the mailing address.

AGGREGATED DATA  In order to make the Site as good as it can be, we will record which pages are more popular by looking at traffic logs. This data gives us general information such as how long users spend on the Site, what browsers they are using, and which sites they have come from. This information helps us understand our audience, but is not matched in any way to personal data that we may also receive.

COOKIES  We use a small software file called a cookie to remember where individual users are within the Site, so that if they return, they can continue the story without having to start from the beginning again. These cookies are optional, and refusing to accept them will not reduce enjoyment of the Site. The user's cookie file lives on the user's machine, and can be deleted at any time by the user.

EXTERNAL LINKS OPERATED BY THIRD PARTIES  The theme of this project is environmentalism and it encourages further research. We have incorporated some links to external sites within the Site. Visitors clicking on these links will be offered a warning page indicating that this is an exit page. Visitors are encouraged to proceed with caution or to turn back. These external links are operated by third parties that are not affiliated with WGBH. WGBH does not produce, maintain, or monitor these third party sites. The links are clearly marked, and are included as a useful resource for learning. You should review the privacy policies of these third party sites for their policies and practices regarding the collection and use of personally identifiable information.

CHANGE FUTURE USE  The Site is privately funded. If, in the course of development, additional funding becomes available, or a commercial business model avails itself, we will amend this privacy policy accordingly. We will also update this policy if privacy legislation changes or if we add features where additional personal data is required. Submissions.  

By submitting artwork, comments, images, photographs, audio and the like (“Submissions”), you represent and warrant to the Site that you have all necessary rights in and to all Submissions you provide and all information they contain and that such Submissions shall not infringe any proprietary or other rights of third parties or contain any libelous, tortious, or otherwise unlawful information. If your Submissions incorporate the name, voice likeness and/or image of any individual and/or any third party-owned content including without limitation text, artwork, graphics, software, music, sound, photographs, videos, messages, posts, data, information or other material, you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant the Site to use such name, voice, likeness and/or image of such individual and/or such third party-owned content appearing in the Submissions in all media throughout the world in perpetuity. By submitting your Submissions, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold the Site, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates and/or related entities and parties harmless from and against any breach or alleged breach of any of your representations, warranties or undertakings hereunder

 

By submitting specific Submissions which imitate, reproduce, duplicate and/or show any likeness to Jurdy®, you agree to give Jenifer Jurden LLC  a non-exclusive, free, worldwide license for the duration of the applicable author’s rights, to publish your remarks, ideas, graphics, photographs or other information communicated to and through this Site. In addition to the right to publish, Jenifer Jurden LLC is also granted under said license the following rights, without limitation:
1.      the right to reproduce;
2.      the right to transfer, which includes the distribution via computer and networks;
3.      the right to edit, modify, adapt, arrange, improve, correct, translate, in all or in part; and
4.      the right to update/upgrade by adding or removing.
